Note to self: for working with non-XMLRPC stuff, ensure that xmlrpc-1.2-patched.jar is in $GLOBUS_LOCATION/lib, otherwise you get [JWSCORE-193]. For working with XMLRPC stuff, ensure that xmlrpc-1.2-patched.jar is not in $GLOBUS_LOCATION, otherwise you get “class “org.apache.xmlrpc.XmlRpcRequestConfig”’s signer information does not match signer information of other classes in the same package” (at least with xmlrpc-*-3.1.2.jar).

Abstract
SOAP is the protocol used most often in web services communications. Implementations of the Web Services Resource Framework (WSRF) use SOAP as a communications protocol as well. Performance analysis’ for SOAP toolkits have been performed for various cases and toolkits but WSRF implementations have generally not been taken into account. This work compares the SOAP performance of three WSRF implementations, namely UNICORE 6 WSRFLite 1.8.6, Globus Toolkit 4 Java WS-Core 4.2.1 and Apache Muse v2.2.0. The benchmark results give a clear indication on how implementations fare performance-wise and can be used to decide which implementation is to be used, especially if performance is an issue.

Nach 12 Tagen offline wieder im Büro und nur 80 E-Mails, ich bin angenehm überrascht. Dafür will Thunderbird nicht eine einzige davon runterladen, mal sehen ob “Folder compacting” was bringt, es dauert jedenfalls schon mal ewig.
Naiv wie ich war, dachte ich irgendwie dass mein Rückflug ab Heathrow dieses Mal pünktlich wäre. Komisch, dabei heißt es doch immer, man verdrängt positive Erinnerungen und erinnert sich nur an die schlechten… dieses Mal war’s allerdings BA 920, planmäßig ab 13:20. War dann halt doch eher 14:40, so dass ich auch 1:20 später als geplant, also erst um 17:40, in Stuttgart landete – Schwimmkurs adé. Zum guten Glück fiel dann noch die S-Bahn aus, aber nachdem der Bus über Scharnhauser Park völlig bescheuert ist und ich nicht gleich ein Taxi nehmen wollte, fuhr beim zweiten Versuch immerhin die S-Bahn wieder. Old Faithful ist also nach wie vor der Verspätung treu.
P.S.: Die weiteren Heathrow-Ärgernisse wie äußerst intensive Sicherheitskontrolle, überfülltes Terminal, kurzfristige Information über das Abfluggate etc. waren natürlich auch alle dabei.
Gerade eben dachte ich mir, ich könnte mal wieder meinen Zugang zum BW-Grid richtig einrichten, da wurde demletzt nämlich der Headnode geändert. Also die E-Mail mit dem neuen Hostnamen gesucht, Zertifikat runtergeladen, mit OpenSSL gehashed, passend kopiert, signing policy erstellt… und nix geht, wie immer.
Dass das OpenSSL-Geblödel immer so umständlich sein muss… eine halbe Stunde später habe ich es dann, doch noch hin bekommen – das Root-Zertifikat musste ich auch noch neu runterladen, hashen und die signing policy dafür erstellen. Hauptsache, es geht, gerade eben bin ich erfolgreich auf dem Headnode eingeloggt.
